This Privacy Policy explains how Becca AI ("Becca", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website, the Becca AI assistant, and the Becca Box device. Becca is built and operated from Lagos, Nigeria, and we handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (NDPA).

Information we collect

• Account information — your name, email, and phone number when you sign up or subscribe.
• Payment information — processed securely by our payment partner, Paystack. We do not see or store your full card details.
• Voice and assistant data — when you speak to Becca, audio and the resulting commands are processed to respond to you. Where possible, this happens locally on your Becca Box.
• Device and usage data — the devices you connect, your settings and routines, and how you use Becca, so the service works and improves.
• Communications — messages you send us for support.

How your data stays close to home

Becca is built privacy-first. The Becca Box is designed to process as much of your data as possible locally, inside your home or office, rather than sending it to outside servers. Where cloud processing is genuinely required for a feature, we limit what is sent and for how long.

How we use your information

• To provide, operate, and personalise the Becca service.
• To process payments and manage your subscription.
• To respond to your requests and provide support.
• To improve Becca's features, accuracy, and reliability.
• To send important service messages (and, with your consent, occasional updates).
• To meet legal and regulatory obligations.

Legal basis

We process your data based on your consent, the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and improving Becca, and compliance with the law.

When we share data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with: our payment processor (Paystack) to take payment; trusted service providers who help us run Becca under confidentiality obligations; and authorities where required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Data retention

We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. When you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it by law.

Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and the local-first design of the Becca Box. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you and the authorities of any breach as required by law.

Your rights

Under the NDPA you may: access the data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; request a portable copy of your data; and complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. Children
